About the Event
If you have attended an LCMNA field trip in the last two months, please wait one week before registering to give other LCMNA members a chance to register. We thank you in advance for your kind cooperation.
The Port Royal Sound is arguably the most impactful ecosystem in our area. Join Chris Kehrer, Science Program Manager at the Port Royal Sound Foundation, to learn about this unique and critical southeastern coastal estuary. We'll cover topics from ecology and geology to history and current events. By the end of this program, you'll have a deeper understasnding of how special this system is, the threats it faces, and what you can do to protect it. We will end with a nature hike on the neighboring Mobley Tract property and bring-your-own bagged lunch.
For utmost enjoyment, attendees should bring a bagged lunch, notebook and pencil for notetaking, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), bug protection, binoculars, and shoes/boots you're willing to get muddy.
